About Fusion History Brasserie Bar Garden Rooms Events Private Functions Customer Reviews Contact Us HistoryThe building in which Fusion is housed dates from the 13th century and is referred to as the 'house of Agnes' in Charles Dickens' novel David Copperfield. More recently, during renovations in 2005, the site on which our conservatory bar is now located was found to be of significant archaeological interest. Ceramics found on site indicated a previous incarnation as a Roman pottery kiln, one of several located just outside the old city walls.
Of even more importance however, the building works unearthed an extremely rare scientific instrument known as an 'astrolabic quadrant'- dated from 1388 - it was recently described as .
